Earth Hour 2023

On March 25, we will celebrate Earth Hour.

Our mission and duty is to promote such global initiatives and support a community of people who are not indifferent to the future of our planet.

The community of the Earth Hour movement covers all continents with its activities and actively supports all initiatives aimed at caring for the natural environment and preventing climate warming.

March 25, turn off the lights at 8:30 p.m.

On March 25 at 8:30 p.m., let’s traditionally turn off the lights for an hour and influence greenhouse gas emissions. Reducing greenhouse gas emissions is key to reducing the risk of global warming and its negative effects, such as floods, droughts, hurricanes, extreme temperatures and sea level rise. This year, Germany has decided to include well-known monuments located throughout the country in the campaign.

The next seven years will be a test for all of us to pass. If we do not reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 2030, the average annual temperature will rise more than 1.5 degrees Celsius. The effects of a warming climate will be felt by animals, among others – many species could be irretrievably lost if we do not implement preventive measures. The earth is becoming poorer in raw materials and water, and many natural habitats are disappearing as a result of human activities.

Turning off the lights for an hour is a symbolic action, but it is very meaningful because it reminds us that each of us has an impact on the environment.

How to have a positive impact on the environment?

Save energy

Invest in energy-efficient lighting and appliances. Turn off unnecessary electrical appliances. Consider installing photovoltaic panels

Recycle

Segregate waste. Try not to buy disposable products.

Save water

Store rainwater. Reduce the amount of water you use, turn it off when brushing your teeth, for example. Wash when you collect a full washing machine of clothes.

Use public transportation

By choosing public transportation, you contribute to reducing emissions into the atmosphere and reducing fuel consumption.

Grow plants

Plants clean the air of pollutants and reduce the amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. You can grow them even on a small balcony. If you have more space, plant trees in the garden.

Don't buy unnecessary things

When you buy unnecessary things, you use natural resources. Their production negatively affects the environment, causing air, water and soil pollution, loss of biodiversity and climate change

Choose organic products

Eco-friendly products are made using materials from renewable sources, such as wood, organic cotton, glass, and recycled materials.

Educate

Share your knowledge. Organize environmental educational activities such as workshops, lectures or themed games.
